Best of Vancouver (BC, Canada)
Vancouver is probably the only place in the world with such a beautiful view on landing to the international airport. Where else can you find such a big city just between the ocean and high mountains?
If you go to Vancouver, you must see Grouse Mountain, Stanley Park and take a drink in Robson Street. Vancouver is the only place where you can be sitting on Kitsilano Beach and 30 minutes later snowboarding on the Seymour Mountain. The transportation is not so bad, compared to other big cities in the world.
Vancouver has beaches with sand and trees: English Bay, Kitsilano, Spanish Banks are just a few. It’s great to dive in the ocean, in a hot day of summer, and still admire some white snow on the top of the Two Lions. Visit Granville Island and its artistic-oriented area.
Most of the year you can sail in the day and ski in the evening. Real wilderness is less then 30 minutes away. Relaxed is the basic attitude and most people are pretty friendly. Visit China Town and don’t forget the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, renowned as being the first of its type built since the late 15th century.
Take the Seabus to the North Vancouver District, 15 minutes from the downtown. Spend few minutes on the Lonsdale Quai, taste some oisters, than take a bus to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Most tourists stop here, but if you go further, you’ll discover a nice hatchery and the Capilano Lake, from which it is a short distance to climb on Grouse Mountain.
