LuxembourgLuxembourg is a parliamentary representative democracy with a constitutional monarch, a city and almost a country by itself. It is a small landlocked country in western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany, with a small population of under half a million people.

It is the world’s only remaining sovereign Grand Duchy. The old medieval city of Luxembourg-Ville (the capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) is built on the rocky Bock Peninsula, between the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers.

Luxembourg has the second highest Gross Domestic Product per capita in the world. With such a highly developed economy, it is not amazing people find good to live there.

Luxembourg is a founding member of NATO, the European Union, the United Nations, Benelux, and the Western European Union. The city of Luxembourg, the capital and largest city, is the seat of several institutions and agencies of the European Union. This reflects the political consensus in favour of economic, political, and military integration.

Luxembourg borrows customs from each of the distinct traditions of the Romance Europe and Germanic Europe. It is a trilingual city: German, French and Luxembourgish are the official languages.
