Weather in Toronto (ON, Canada)

Weather in TorontoClimate of Toronto is semi-continental, with a warm, humid summer and a cold winter. Toronto’s climate is among the mildest and least snowy in Canada, being moderated by Lake Ontario. The water in the lake ensures Toronto is warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Weather in Toronto is sometimes windy. All cities located on the shores of the Great Lakes makes them more vulnerable to the winds. Summers usually have an abundance of warm or hot sunny days. Winters are rather less sunny.

Toronto’s smog is very much a summer phenomenon. There are days when air-quality drops to “moderate”.

Winters are still severe, with snow on the ground most days between mid-December and mid-March. But during winter months, the average daytime temperature hovers just slightly below freezing.
