Worst of Adelaide (Australia)
Some might find living in Adelaide a bit boring. It’s a great city, but its relative isolation from the rest of the country and the distances, plus the increased migration of people to other big cities like Sydney, Melbourne or even Brisbane, may have left Adelaide behind. It was a time not long ago when Adelaide was indeed booming. Now, it was left behind by the other big Australian cities, including Perth.
The climate is another point of criticism, with dozens of days in a row at over 35 degrees, in a very dry heat.
Some may also say Adelaide is a great place, but rather to retire, good for elders. It looks just like a big country town: if you hit the city, you may run into people that you know. And the calmness may come from …cannabis consumption.
Adelaide may not be the best place for amusements. It’s a nice place to live …if you don’t like doing anything. When people say Adelaide has the largest undercover market in the southern hemisphere, they may forget it is open for only half a day a week.
Not everybody loves Glenelg and the “world class” beaches close to Adelaide. The Glenelg beach is sometimes washed away and quite dirty.
Some living in Adelaide may also complain it is much more expensive than what people think. It is cheaper than Sydney or Melbourne in terms of housing and large properties, but in terms of food, dining, apartments and fashion, it tends to be quite a bit more expensive.

Adelaide had the first modern F1 car racing in Australia. Adelaide has the only professional Bike Tour (including riders with the credentials of Lance Armstrong). It has world class Festivals, Food and Wine Events.
The Central Market is fantastic and is open full days on Tuesdays, Thursday, Friday and Saturday for a half day. It only opens for select days to give the growers/stallholders to produce the best and freshest product.
Thanks, DG. But all these are rather part of Best of Adelaide
