Hello, everyone;
I’m posting this comment because I’m really pissed at the school system here. My family and are moved to Nashville in Dec. 09. I’ve read some post on the citydata.com and Sperling’s best places .com about several problems with Nashville. I always try to be optimistic, and I ignored a lot of valuable info. on those post. When we first arrived here we had a hard time enrolling our two teen-aged sons into high school due to the school not getting the correct info. from the high school in our previous state. Once they received the info. they misplaced some of it that they needed to put them in their right classes. Then there were issues with the bus routes. It took them almost three weeks to put them on the right route. Since we’ve been here, I’ve heard several people comment that they do things nice and slow down here. And guess what? they do! For the past week I had to call the bus company to get a bus to come and pick my kids up from their route for school. Again last week,they’ve been late for school every day for the whole week! We came during the winter months, and let me tell you that even if they think that they’re gonna get snow , they’ll shut down everything, mainly the schools! And some of those days the schools would be closed with not an inch of snow (sometimes light flurries)And they panics when there’s rain o a little snow on the ground which results in many, many car accidents! But,overall, they really do things backwards down here in the south. All of this irritation that leads to me posting about my current complaint. Yesterday and today the schools were closed for the possibility of flooding. There’s been heavy rain over the weekend, but no flooding on most streets and especially in the schools. But, all of the Metro schools were closed. And tomorrow the schools will be closed as well. The treat education like some kind of, ‘Looney tune joke’ I can’t wait until school is out for the summer, I’m getting my kids out of here!
