Worst of PerthSome younger people may not like Perth so much because it is very isolated (the most isolated big Australian city, in the western corner of the country) and may look a but boring (not so many amusements, compared to other big Australian cities). Amazingly enough, they also love it for this lonely isolation, for its wonderful beaches and its calmness.

Immigration brought also a lot of Asians to Perth, and multicultural diversity is not for everyone necessarily a good thing. Traffic in Perth may be another disturbing issue. Continue reading »

PerthIn the state of Western Australia, Perth is the largest city and its capital, fourth Australian city by the number of its population, which consistently grows at a rate above the national average. It is known as one of the most isolated big cities in the world.

When American astronaut John Glenn passed overhead while orbiting the earth in 1962 and in the Space Shuttle in 1998, city residents lit their houselights and streetlights, and Perth became since known worldwide as the “City of Light”. Continue reading »

SydneySydney is today the largest and most dynamic city of Australia. Its metropolitan area is over 4 million people and still growing. Sydney is also the state capital of New South Wales. It was the first British colony in Australia, established in 1788 at Sydney Cove.
