Luxembourg is a parliamentary representative democracy with a constitutional monarch, a city and almost a country by itself. It is a small landlocked country in western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany, with a small population of under half a million people.
It is the world’s only remaining sovereign Grand Duchy. The old medieval city of Luxembourg-Ville (the capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) is built on the rocky Bock Peninsula, between the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers. Continue reading »
