Largest city of the state of Oregon, Portland comes third in terms of population in the Pacific Northwest, after Vancouver (BC, Canada) and Seattle (WA). Portland is situated near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers. The city is also known for its large number of microbreweries and microdistilleries, for strong land-use planning and investment in public transit, and for its Trail Blazers NBA basketball team.

Capital and largest city in the state of Georgia, Atlanta has been among the fastest growing cities in the developed world. Recent years have seen Atlanta going from a city of regional commerce to a city of international influence. Known by many as the “Windy City“, Chicago is the largest city in the state of Illinois, one of the largest cities and metropolitan areas in the United States, an important economic center and base for the Democratic Party. With a humid continental climate and four distinct seasons, Chicago borders the Lake Michigan and connects the Mississippi River and the Great Lakes watersheds.
