Weather in CalgaryClimate of Calgary is highland continental and semi-arid. It is influenced by the city’s elevation and close proximity to the Rocky Mountains. Calgary endures very cold winters, although not as cold as Edmonton, which lies farther north.

Weather in Calgary shows long and dry winters, and short and moderately warm summers. When the temperature is cold, that wind chill bites; minus 40 or worse about 3 times a year. Snow depths of greater than 1 cm are seen more often each year in Calgary compared to Toronto. Continue reading »

Driving in CanadaThere are over 6,000 km to travel Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. Best Canadian cities are usually found either close to the East Coast or to the Pacific Ocean. Vancouver and Victoria are part of this last group. They take advantage of the moderate climate and the proximity to the mountain and ocean. A special mention for Calgary, a city close to the Rocky Mountains.

CalgaryCalgary was recently ranked the world’s cleanest city by Mercer Consulting, in a Quality of Living survey. This is the largest city in Alberta, a rich province of Canada. It is located close to the Rocky Mountains, to the gorgeous national parks of Banff and Jasper, close to turcoise lakes and wonderful touristic resorts.

Calgary is the largest Canadian city between Toronto and Vancouver. It is located at about 300 km south of Edmonton, the other big Albertan city. Continue reading »
