Metropolitan areas of Toronto (Ontario), Montreal (Quebec) and Vancouver (British Columbia) top the rankings of most populated urban agglomerations of Canada. Just looking at the map, it’s easy to remark the huge density of other highly populated areas in the South-Eastern Ontario, a well-developed economical and industrial corner between the Great Lakes.

Most populated metropolitan agglomerations of Australia are dominated by far by Sydney and Melbourne, each with over 3 million people. They are followed by three other major Australian urban areas, with population between one and two million people: Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. Most notable difference is Sydney has way more suburbs, making a difference of almost one million people from the city itself and the metropolis.
