The top 50 of most populated cities of Australia does not show notable positional changes on top when compared to the Most Populated Agglomerations of Canada rankings. We can remark of course the larger population living in suburbs around Sydney, when compared especially to Melbourne.
Australian Bureau of Statistics defines as “urban centres” population clusters of 1,000 or more people. The figures below represent the populations of the contiguous built-up areas of each city. Data is according to the 2006 Australian Census. Continue reading »
