Weather in ZurichClimate of Zurich is mild, a mixture of the Western European Atlantic climate and the Eastern European Continental climate. Zurich has four distinct seasons: spring from March to May, summer from June to August, fall from September to November and winter from December to February.

1. MunichAccording to the UK publication Monocle, the city of Munich (Germany) has been found in 2007 as the most liveable city in the world. Munich is immediately followed, in the top of 20 cities established by the publication, by Copenhagen (Denmark) and Zurich (Switzerland).

Most top places are essentially taken by cities from western Europe. As usual, we also find few cities from Australia, Canada and New Zealand, the new destinations for immigrants. ZurichBased on the top found on the travel-oriented website TravBuddy, it looks like, from all cities of Switzerland, Zurich continues to attract most tourists in this beautiful country, followed by the cities of Geneva and Lucerne. While there is no surprise Zurich and Geneva continue to take top spots in various surveys, it is a well-deserved third place for the wonderfull Lucerne, as well as other great cities from this country which are not regularly mentioned in worldwide surveys.

Driving Distances in Switzerland

Drive in SwitzerlandSwitzerland is a relatively small country in the middle of Europe. Unless you take a freeway on flat fields, you may not find it so easy to drive in several areas of this country, where big mountains make it sometimes difficult. One popular route is the one from Geneva to Zurich, passing through Lausanne and Bern. There are less than 300 km and you can travel fast.

Closer you get to the Alps, more difficult becomes to travel without stops. There are places where your car must be taken by train. In the winter, some mountain passes may get closed. Continue reading »
